Config problems on English Language

Hello,
I am going to have to do this in English as I know no useful German what-so-ever.

I have installed vkpMx 2.1a and the Coppermine 1.3.2.4 module.
On seting up coppermine I had to refresh the 'Gallery&file=config' page as it didn't appear at first.
Once it apeared it was in German as I expected.
I went through and set up the options as I wanted them to be (using an online translation website)

However it would not let me select English as the language. It kept changing back to German.

Once installed I went to the Admin section and changed the site language from German to English


Now if I go to Coppermine the Config option has almost vanished, and if I do select it I get two warning messages...

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /...site.../modules/Gallery/bridge/pragmamx.inc.php on line 218

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /...site.../modules/Gallery/config.php on line 382

Clearly this a Language file issue but I am not sure how to correct the problem.

Any advice would be greatly accepted.

hmm.. I have checked the MySQL tables and the language in the config table shows English.

I can get back to the config in Coppermine by using the newlang=german function, but I'd really rather understand what I was doing rather than relying on some really really bad translation.
